Become A Wedding Planner? Why Not!



A comedy film in 2001, The Wedding Planner, tells the story of Maria 'Mary' Fiore (Jennifer Lopez), a wedding planner who falls in love with one of his clients, Dr. Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey). Mary is a wedding planner in San Francisco who are too busy taking care of others' wedding and did not have time to take care of her personal life until she was rescued from a fatal accident by Dr. Steve Edison. Unfortunately, their love story disturbed by the fact that Mary is a wedding planner for wedding of Steve and Fran Donolly (Bridgette Wilson).

In the film we can see the Mary's inner battle as a professional wedding planner and as ordinary people who fall in love. A wedding planner is a professional who assists in planning and organizing a wedding. For most people, marriage is an important event in theirlife, and they are willing to spend a lot of money to ensure it organized as perfect as possible.

Income is quite large, but of course there are skills needed to become a wedding planner. A wedding planner must be able to remain calm in the face of adversity. He or she also should be a good negotiator. He or she is a mouthpiece for the bride when it comes to ordering flowers, hiring a band and photographer, looking for catering, etc. he should be able to get them the best service for the lowest price. This will build his/her reputation. Networking is also important. Building good relationships will help ensure that you get good deals. Besides, he also should be competent to handle finances and also be very well organized.

A wedding planner must have a good fashion sense. He/she should know about color, music, and flowers. A good knowledge of religions is also important, because most of the time the wedding is one of the religious rituals. And don't forget the knowledge of the customs and traditions, which are also part of most wedding ceremonies.
